World Dream - Cruise Ship Install
Development and supply of a circular revolving LED floor with 5m diameter and 15mm pixel distance. A unique optical lens system allows for the LED pixel to be embedded into the floor material with high load capacity while guaranteeing maximum image contrast resulting in saturated and vivid colours of the video content.
The Challenge:
Dream Cruises, the leading cruise line in Asia, commissioned Meyer Werft Papenburg with the construction of a brand new 150.000-tonne vessel to meet the growing demands of the Asian market. The 1.694-cabin ship is the largest ship permanently home ported in Asia as well as the largest in the Dream Cruises fleet.
System integration specialist Amptown System Company from Hamburg, Germany, was responsible for the installation of media equipment in the numerous entertainment areas. The ship owners relied on ASC's expertise in the field of audio, light, projection and control engineering.
The implementation of a circular revolving LED floor in the central "bar 360" was particularly challenging. This unique bar and entertainment venue stages various live performances including dance and acrobatics.
The Solution:
eFour developed and manufactured the custom made circular LED floor that was both mechanically strong enough to allow for a variety of performances as well as offer wide viewing angles with ultra-high contrast.
